Air Force Family Support: Who to Call and What They Do
In the Air Force, your unit's family support runs through the Key Spouse Program, and the professional hub is the Military & Family Readiness Center (M&FRC), formerly the Airman & Family Readiness Center.
A note on names
FSS, the Force Support Squadron, is the larger umbrella that also runs events and recreation. The office that handles family readiness is the M&FRC. Ask for it by that name.
The Key Spouse is your unit link
A Key Spouse is a trained unit volunteer who carries official information between the command and families and points you toward help.
The M&FRC is the professional office
The M&FRC handles relocation, finances, deployment support, Exceptional Family Member Program support, and referrals.
For your baby
Ask about the New Parent Support Program. The Air & Space Forces Aid Society also runs a Bundles for Babies class for new and expecting parents.
What it does not do
It connects and refers. For civil or legal disputes, use the base Legal Assistance office.
