In the Marine Corps, your unit link is the Family Readiness Officer (FRO), and the professional side is Marine & Family Programs, delivered through Marine Corps Family Team Building.
The FRO is your unit link
The Family Readiness Officer is the official point of contact who moves information between the unit and families. Unlike the volunteer roles in some branches, the FRO is a staffed position within the unit.
Marine & Family Programs is the professional office
Marine & Family Programs provides readiness training, deployment support, the L.I.N.K.S. spouse orientation, and referrals through Marine Corps Community Services.
For your baby
Ask about the New Parent Support Program: home visits, parenting classes, and playgroups.
What it does not do
It connects and refers. For civil or legal disputes, use the base Legal Assistance office.
